Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

I'LL DRINK TO THAT
My father was the town drunk. Most of the time that's not a big deal, but New York City?

GRAVITY
Gravity is working against me
And gravity wants to bring me down
Oh I'll never know what makes this man
With all the love that his heart can stand
Dream of ways to throw it all away
Oh Gravity is working against me
And gravity wants to bring me down
Oh twice as much ain't twice as good
And can't sustain like a one half could
It's wanting more
That's gonna send me to my knees
Oh gravity, stay the hell away from me
And gravity has taken better men than me (now how can that be?)

BREATHE
Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us.
Martin Luther
Life has it's ups and downs, it's trials and tribulations no doubt.
It is for us to decide how we weather the storm, for the storm will always pass.
Saver the times of calm, for these times will pass to.
Breathe.

SLOW HAND
Emily brought this guitar pick back from London so I thought I'd try a stock shot with it. This may be the last, or at least one of the last shots I take in the studio until I can set things up again in a new place. Seems the bank wants our house back. Gotta start packing things up so it could be two to six months before I'm up and running again. I'll dig into the archives to try to keep things going here on the Photo of the Day blog.
Seems the older I get the harder things have become. I always thought it was going to be the other way around. Oh well, some would say a bad day in America would be a good day in a lot of other places.
I thank God every day.

MEMORIAL DAY 2010
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty. -John F. Kennedy

NO MAN IS AN ISLAND
"All mankind is of one author, and is one volume; when one man dies, one chapter is not torn out of the book, but translated into a better language; and every chapter must be so translated...As therefore the bell that rings to a sermon, calls not upon the preacher only, but upon the congregation to come: so this bell calls us all: but how much more me, who am brought so near the door by this sickness....No man is an island, entire of itself...any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."
John Donne 1624
